Recognizing the need for office space without the high cost and congestion in Chicago’s downtown, Royal Imperial group targeted the factory area just west of the downtown area. Full of dilapidated former factory structures, this area had developed a reputation as unsafe and dangerous.

Capturing the value associated with the proximity to Chicago’s downtown, an 80-year-old factory structure was selected for redevelopment. Through innovative design, layout and construction methods this project now features modern office space in a historically preserved building.
The new with the old in a location with hidden value has combined to meet the needs of a large and growing business market. The success of 900 Jackson has led to the redevelopment of the entire West Gate area and today, this near-west Loop district is one of the most attractive and desirable places in the downtown area to work and reside.
