Sterling Park will take advantage of its proximity to the Chicago Medical District, two CTA bus lines, a CTA train line and the Eisenhower Expressway, all within blocks. The UIC Campus is also just three miles to the east. Sterling Park will provide 800 units of quality rental, condominium, and townhomes at both affordable and at market rates. The 2 million square foot development will provide millions of dollars in economic development and employment opportunities.
Royal Imperial Group will develop Sterling Park on land and in buildings previously owned by Sears Roebuck and Company on the west side of Chicago standing on a 13 acre, 4 city block property. The complex of buildings on the site formed the original national headquarters and catalog warehouse for Sears from 1905 through the early 1980's. Several buildings and features of the complex remain and have been added to the National Registry of Historic Places.

Next to the community center is Chicago's largest daycare, operated by the Y.M.C.A. Garfield and Douglas Parks have recently been significantly rehabilitated and are located nearby. Directly across from the project is an historic garden for residents to enjoy. There are also three new schools within one block of Sterling Park.
